Random Acts of Kindness - Chapter 19: Everlasting Gobstoppers
This week the Whitlock family decided to do a special random act of kindness for their neighbors to go with Chapter 19. This chapter, to be read on the evening of Thursday, January 29, focused on Willy Wonka's Inventing Room where "anyone could see that this was the room he loved best of all." In the Inventing Room, Mr. Wonka revealed his Everlasting Gobstoppers, a special type of candy that never reduced in size and changed color each week. This candy is real! (Well, almost. If you suck on a Gobstopper long enough, it will start to get smaller, but it does change colors the smaller it gets.)
Mrs. Whitlock purchased several boxes of Gobstoppers and surprised her neighbors with this sweet treat, knowing the children would discover the wonders of Gobstoppers that night through their One School One Book reading. It was a wonderful surprise, especially for those who had never tasted a Gobstopper before!
If you and your family find creative ways to share Charlie and the Chocolate with others, please let us know! We would love to showcase your story on our Family Connection page! Email Tamara Letter ([email protected]) with photos and details.
